ADVENTURE AWAITS: From Dhorpatan to Phoksundo

Image
"To journey beyond the limitations of my mind, I travel to look upon the voyage within myself", I stated as I set out on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. The unknown route of Rukum is shown by a voyage through enigmatic landscapes that reveal the most fascinating aspects of Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve, Baglung, to Shey Phoksundo Lake, Dolpa.      It was Dashain. I and a friend planned a great trek from Dhorpatan to the upper Dolpo via the Rukum district. We had no idea we were going on previously uncharted roads, dubbed a "Guerrilla Route".      We took a night bus from Kathmandu to Burtibang, Baglung, and then a 2-3 hour jeep ride to Dhorpatan, where we had a full day to see the magnificence of Nepal's sole hunting reserve, noted for Blue Sheep and Himalayan Thar. While unclear of the route we would take the next day. We figure out the routes to Dolpa with the advice of  authorities from the DhorpatanHunting Reserve.  They gave u...

API NAMPA BASE CAMP IN NEPAL’S SUDURPASCHIM: The True Wild West Of Nepal

Image
To keep me aloof from the normal hustle and bustle of city life, I desired to explore Nepal’s untamed, pristine land. I wanted to push myself to more unexplored heaven. What better adventure than the Wild West of Nepal i.e. Sudurpaschim. The region is considered one of Nepal's remote and developmentally challenged regions albeit its topography is taken as a natural paradise and full of tourism potentiality. “Please be sure about the landslide that has been going on in the far western region”, my friend suggested I wait for the normalcy before I go. Nothing could have stopped me from what I was waiting for; I had waited long since covid happened, hence the journey began after I was informed it is safe to travel.   Shuklaphanta National Park I set off from Kathmandu to Dhangadhi via aerial mode which stumbled me with magnificent hilly sights through the window of a plane. Upon reaching there, I was already feeling the warmth...

Let there be end

Image
Let the world falls in silence Breathing peacefully amidst turbulence. Let the contagion proliferates on earth Human suffering, nature’s wrath. Let the veil of insanity remains in the shell Worldwide famine telling poor man’s tale. Let there be the end, nowhere to be born again!    Let the blue skies be nature’s delight  Locked inside, no more human’s plight. Let the bird chirps countless melodies   Green paradise smearing climatic tragedies. Let the wind blows towards serenity Endless calls to end life’s divinity. Let there be an end! Never able to die again.    (Poem was written during Covid-19 lockdown)

Oh “Awaken” Bunny

Oh, “Awaken”  Bunny -Jyoti Dhawal/Niroj Khatiwada   What keeps you awake, honey? Even in the crowd during the midst of sunny? Some after money,  Some after their beloved bunny. Misty mountains alluring any What keeps you awake, honey?  The mind seems to dwell in the days of rainy  Thoughts keep pushing beyond it looks funny  Oh, Honey! Are you alright, my bunny! Is this what you behold as agony Dreaming  religious Illuminati ceremony Soaking on the veils of a symphony What keeps you awake, honey? Live dreaded moments of harmony Do you appease amidst the serenity Oh, Honey! Is that keep you awake, my bunny?   (A light-hearted poem erupted from the heart of Jyoti, synced into traumatic philosophical myths by Niroj)

I Say

Life Seems like a shimmering way Unfolding in the hope of a day  One path or the other, you breakaway The world we live in is an enduring play  Dying creatures your Ruth’s well may Get yourself into the heaven-forth bay Mighty gods relinquished through the ray  Purity echoes god’s holy grail pray  Cusped humans sufferings bigotry tray  Enkindle numerous life amidst a clay  Uses like it fathoms natural hay  Grounded compassion enrich soul thy slay  Flows like you never constitute delay  Eternity remains a lusted veil of Rheumy breezeway

CHINA SOJOURN: BEGUILING BEIJING

Image
Beijing, originally Peking, is one of the world's most famous cities, with ancient landmarks,     contemporary buildings, bustling avenues, and enormous cultural artifacts culminating in its historical renaissance. It is China's second-biggest city, and it was at the top of my bucket list. I  visited Wuhan, Chengdu, and Beijing during my three-week  stay in China. But Beijing was the  pinnacle of my trip to China. I happened  to be there  for a week after feeling driven to discover what lay beyond the mountains to Nepal's north. Getting to Beijing from Wuhan, in a 12-hour train ride, I finally arrived in Beijing. I was ecstatic at the prospect of visiting one of the world's seven wonders, "The Great Wall." The northern frontiers of China flaunt these lengthy and massive walls that were once built to divide the Mongolian boundaries. This 13,000-mile-long wall is an emblem of Chinese culture. As it was my first overseas trip, I bec...

Manang: The Land of Tilicho Lake

Image
We travel not to escape life, but for life not to flee us'  as a famous quote itself tells how important it is to explore around and what it holds to anyone's life. Being in Nepal, one has many places to explore beautiful terrains in the mountainous region. One of my last visits was to Manang, where the highest altitude lake, Tilicho, lies at the height of 4,900m approx. Manang is indeed a beautiful odyssey of vibrant, breathtaking landscapes. A little girl who accompanied us during a jerk bolero ride from Beshisahar, Lamjung to Khangshar, Manang,  allured us with vivid descriptions of innocent tales of her village. Indeed it replicated our imaginations into more adventuresome. The journey starts from Kathmandu to Beshishahar, Lamjung, and the next day to Pisang Valley Of Manang through Chame (Headquarter Of Manang). The trip was nothing short of an adrenaline rush. Along the journey, it treated us with slanted stone rock mountains to the snow-capped mounta...
